The general goal is for it to look like handwriting but NOT be too cutesy like comic sans, or anything like this:

Also I might have a sort of back-and forth thing between the two sets of memories of the guy and the girl in which case I'd also need a more feminine script that has a noticeably different look to it than the other script without loosing the feel, maybe something like this:

HANDWRITTEN?!
... i love it.
There are actually some really cool handwritten fonts out thar on them internets. But, it's more authentic if you create your own letterforms. (The REAL question is, do you have time to do so?)
Again, it'd be helpful to have some concrete ideas, but, it sounds like you're leaning towards a journal-esque style. It wouldn't be too hard to purchase a journal (or just paper), write everything out on your own, scan it in, and photoshop it to look the way you want.
Also, it wouldn't be a terrible idea to try to combine some of the fonts you chose. What's always bugged me about handwritten fonts is that, no matter how well-done they are, the letters are always the same. (Side note: wouldn't it be cool if you could somehow create code for font files so that when the user pressed, for example, the Q key on the keyboard, it randomly chose a "q" from four or five different styles? That way, the letterforms would look random, and therefore become a true handwritten font. Do you follow me? Maybe I'm crazy.)
Ker-pow! Post some specifics, and I'll make sure to continue commenting :)
